kuber kanji is in jail

Kerala police have busted a telemarketing firm, which sold a product that promised to bring wealth to its owner.

The crackdown is on a telemarketing product named 'Kuber Kunji' that claims to have supernatural powers.

An intelligence unit of the Kochi police seized these gadgets and arrested the franchisees of the Indore-based telemarketing firm. The police took notice of the fraud after complaints started pouring in from people who were cheated.

According to the police, the seller promised wealth and prosperity to the buyer within 45 days after the purchase. The product is priced at Rs 3,375 and contains a key, an idol of Kuber, a photo, a CD and a brochure. This particular agency has been found selling over 300 pieces a month in Ernakulam and 600 to 700 in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.

The agency had made a business of over Rs 2 crore in the last one month alone.

The police are on the lookout for many more such franchisees spread across Kerala. Till then they are on a mission to create awareness among public against such fraud firms.
