how to format posts in googleplus

Just checking my google plus updates and giving some replies.Suddenly one of my friend asked this Q-how to make post in google plus in bold or italic?
This is a guideline for him.
Basically its very easy-just like gmail chat,google plus supports basic formatting;not complex word processing.

To post in bold,use "*"

i *like* this

=>i like this

for italics,use "_"

i _like_ this

=> i like this

for strikethrough,use "-"

i -like- this

=> i like this
