Libreoffice 4.0.0 with 3.6.5 in ubuntu 12.04

+Ubuntu 12.04 does not have the latest +LibreOffice in its repository. After searching for some time, found this repository for v3.6.5. Updating the repository upgraded the package to v3.6.5. After that libreoffice released version 4.0. Downloaded the tar.gz file from the download page and followed the instructions.
The problem with two versions installed was that only one could be integrated with desktop properly. To start the version installed following the above instructions, we need to do -
 it is easy to start any of the LibreOffice apps by opening a shell, changing to the "program" folder beneath the above-created installation folder (called "install") [the whole path might look like install/opt/libreoffice3.4/program] and starting the desired application
 To launch the program simply, i have added one more item in the +Ubuntu Unity quicklist following these instructions (though they are very old;not advisable to follow them any more; but the idea remains the same). So, now the entry in unity looks like this
The only problem with this is that the program is launching directly. Not through the terminal.
gedit ~/.local/share/applications/libreoffice-startcenter.desktop

[Writerbeta Shortcut Group]
Name=LibreOffice4.1
Exec=/home/dr/media/tordld/uncategorized/LibreOffice_4.0.0.3_Linux_x86_deb/DEBS/install/opt/libreoffice4.0/program/soffice
TargetEnvironment=Unity
